Meet Our Staff
Pastor Carl & Melanie Hughes
Pastor Carl Hughes has been our Senior Pastor since May 2013. Carl was saved at the age of four while attending Central Baptist Church in Pasadena. He graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1992. After attending a Junior College for one year he felt called into ministry. He immediately left for Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where he met his wife Melanie Patterson. They were married June of 1995. Carl graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Baptist Bible College in May 1997. His first ministry was in Bluffton Indiana where he was the Youth Pastor. He went from Bluffton to Hobbs New Mexico where he was the Youth Pastor for 8 ½ years. He came to Cypress Creek Baptist Church as the Youth Pastor in June 2008. During Carl’s time at Cypress Creek Baptist he received his Master of Arts degree from Louisiana Baptist University in 2013. Carl became Co-Pastor in 2011 and became the Senior Pastor in May 2013. Carl and Melanie have two children; Bryce and Bailey.
Pastor Emeritus Bill & Office Manager Joyce Campbell
Bill was born and raised in Lebanon, Ohio, and was saved as a teenager. He felt God call him into ministry his senior year of high school. He attended Baptist Bible College and graduated with a Theology degree. He was a youth pastor for five years and then pastored a church in southeast Houston. He and Joyce were called to Cypress Creek Baptist Church in May of 2000. Bill retired in May of 2013 and the church honored him by appointing him as Pastor Emeritus. Pastor Carl has been very gracious in allowing Bill and Joyce to continue to work for the Lord at Cypress Creek. They both work in the church office. Bill and Joyce have five children.
Missions Intern Javier & Tiffany Hidalgo
Javier Hidalgo has been our Missions Intern since December 2017 and Javier also oversees our Youth Group. Javier felt called into ministry shortly after being saved. It was on a missions trip in Honduras that Javier and Tiffany surrendered to become foreign missionaries. After surrendering to missions, God called Javier and Tiffany to serve as missionaries to France. Javier graduated from Liberty University with a Master of Religious Education in 2017. Tiffany is currently earning an Associate Degree in Missions from Louisiana Baptist University. Javier and Tiffany have two children; Grayson and Sawyer.
