Meet Our Pastor

Pastor Carl & Melanie Hughes

Pastor Carl Hughes has been our Senior Pastor since May 2013.  Carl was saved at the age of four while attending Central Baptist Church in Pasadena.  He graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1992.  After attending a Junior College for one year he felt called into ministry.  He immediately left for Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, where he met his wife Melanie Patterson.  They were married June of 1995.  Carl graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Baptist Bible College in May 1997.  His first ministry was in Bluffton Indiana where he was the Youth Pastor.  He went from Bluffton to Hobbs New Mexico where he was the Youth Pastor for 8 ½ years.  He came to Cypress Creek Baptist Church as the Youth Pastor in June 2008.  During Carl’s time at Cypress Creek Baptist he received his Master of Arts degree from Louisiana Baptist University in 2013.  Carl became Co-Pastor in 2011 and became the Senior Pastor in May 2013.  Carl and Melanie have two children; Bryce and Bailey.
